One of my visitors has sent me the following information:

I'm a second cousin of Hacker Martin. I own one of his rifles. It has been described as one of his best works. He was born in 1895 and died in 1870 in Appomatox, Va. where he owned a mill. His mill in Jonesborough, Tn. was the Cedar Creek Mill and his daughter still lives across the street. He is buried in Jonesborough amongst other family members including my grgrgrandfather William Shelton Keefauver. Shelton was a sergeant in the 60th Tennessee Mounted Infantry for the Confederate States of America. Many of Hacker's rifles, pistols, fiddles, tools and his grist mill are at the Museum of Appalachia in Norris, Tn.
